Pinning Out Connector

Image
So after a little while with work taking up all of my days and into the night. This weekend we ducked up home to see Mum and Dad but I wanted to get some work done on the loom so took it along with me. Managed to get both connectors nearly finished so just need to triple check everything with the multimeter to make sure I didnt put a pin in the wrong place.

So far so good. This afternoon was spent pinning out the connectors and finalising some of the heat shrink.

More Heat Shrink arrived.

Needed to be a 150min order so got 6mtrs of 1/4, 3/8 & 1/8 sized HellermannTyton SE28 Mil Spec shrink as well as proper Mil spec connector boots that are adhesive lined as well.

Flex Fuel Sensor Arrived

If you are after a flex fuel sensor then highly recommend "universelinkauto" as an ebayer. Cheap and the delivery was quick being just over 1 week from purchase. Here is the sensor up close.

Loom progress

I have made some more progress on tue loom, this weekend was spent documenting each wire colour and connector as well as tue connector pin. Whilst I havent finished the aim is to allow easy trouble shooting should the need arise. I also have started to put the motorsport heat shrink over the main section of the loom, because I wanted to test everything first this meant I had to remove the AMP connector and pins along with the Deutsch DTM and DT connectors,  it was a bit difficult bit I managed to get part the way there and then realised I had run out of heat shrink. Will have to order some more on Monday as well as some pin removal and insertion tool's for the Deutsch HD30 connector as I forgot to order them with the connectors.

Circular Connectors Arrived

Adding in some circular connectors through the firewall They are Deutsch HD30 connectors, i was originally going to go with some of the exotic connectors but then would have had to buy another tool. These can use the tooling i have and are Mil Spec. Here is the connector joined together,

Ordered Flex Fuel Sensor

I ordered a flex fuel sensor to install so I can check the ethanol content of my fuel on the dash. All up was $100delivered which is a lot cheaper then Haltech or Zeitronix are asking for them. I am going to pot the wires in and install onto a Deutsch DTM 3 pin connector. Part Number is Continental Ethanol (Flex Fuel) Content Sensor 13577394.
