Have not done much since the Oran Park track day but have a few things to try and sort out, has been difficult with work and EOFY.
Have to fit the rod ends which Unique Autosports got for me, they are a chrome moly 14mm teflon coated type used in motorsport. I am hoping they will do the job and i won't have any issues like with the Kazama ones, John sorted out some good prices as well considering some of the other places wanted close to $200 each for them.
Been having some trouble with the DL1 and its mounting position which became apparent at the last track day as it seems to be a little loose, this throws off the G sensors and I need to get Andrew to have a look for me at it as well as wire up TPS and brake signals to log throttle control and braking. Thoughts are to create a bracket that fixes itself to the DL1 and the Dash where normally the air conditioning bracket would go.
The fuel readout from the std fuel level sensor in the tank i had the voltage reading wrong so 80 was full on the dash, I have to measure the voltage when it is full and load into the software to get the right fuel level.
Went to the NSCC club dyno day on the 4th July and had a really good day. I put the car on the rollers to check if everything was running OK , looks like it is down a fair bit on power and running very rich which I kind of expected as running with other cars on what they had less power i could not take them on the straights. This also explains a little the black puffs of smoke on gear changes where it is over fuelling, I need to get it looked at as is only making 197rwkw on 19psi which hits home why I am not able to run down the V8's on the straights even with a good corner exit.
The car is running with the HKS GTRS and a few other mods so shows how important it is to get touch up tunes over time. The last time it was tuned was about 5 or 6 years ago but I am going to play around with the base setting on the power fc and drop it down a little to lean it out. Will need to get it properly sorted soon but i am having more and more issues with getting these expenses past the wife especially since we are meant to be saving for a house. Must admit has got me thinking about lap times as I always run 16psi on the track to be certain the car is safe and when i ran the car on the Dyno we put it up to 19psi and it only made 197rwkw, I reckon it probably has only been making 180rwkw on the track so imagine if i can start getting it sorted and then putting down some more times at Wakefield or Oran GP.
