After a few days of playing around at night, i have thankfully traced an issue that i had which was causing no power to get to the lights as well as other things.
The issue turned out to be actually two issues as so often these things seem to be.
The first issue i
traced to when i had wired up the light relay, i had put power into 87a rather than into 30 and vice versa. I had designed the wiring diagram correctly but realized the issue when i could not hear the relay clicking on switching the circuit.
The second was traced to a simple grounding issue with the connector pins that connect the main panel wiring to a ground location. The pin was simply reversed in the wrong position meaning it was not connected to anything.
Feels pretty good to have some progress and will now start to work through the rest of the wiring double checking the operation and for any other issues.
I can then work on finishing off the firewall connection plate.
