Went to Wakefield Park today, the day was very cold and windy with rain the day before leaving pools of water throughout the pit and garage area and sections of the track having running water going across them.
The forecast wasn't looking too bad before the day so turning up in the morning this was a big downer and i was not very hopeful of getting any good times.
First session was a passenger session and after being instructed in the drivers briefing to take it easy i think the entire field decided to do the opposite and were flying off the track everywhere. The track was very slippery and with water over turn 2, turn 9 and onto the straight on 10 it made for plenty of moments for most.
It progressively got dryer through the day until about lunch time when some more people in another session went off through 6-7 and 9 and bought mud and water across the track again which meant the transition from right to left hander through 6-7 was very twitchy and onto the back straight right where you are applying full throttle you would loose traction with the water/mud.
Finally at the end of the day the track was griping up but with the last time session over earlier it was only passenger sessions left, luckily Narada from Circuit Club offered to allow me to get in two flying laps at the end of one of the passenger session before the other cars were out and i managed a 1:02.4.
