Andrew came around today and welded a nut onto the drain bung with his tig and was able to unscrew the bung. What a relief after taking so long to try and get it off he was able to do it easy. We replaced the bungs and tightened them up nice and easy so as to avoid the previous issues although we suspect it was more to do with the silicone used more so then the tightening. Here is the nut welded onto the drain plug bung Decided to try Castrol Syntrans oil in the gearbox this time becasue it is cheaper then the Motul gear 300 by about $10per bottle and also readily avaible at places like REPCO and Supercheap Auto. I picked up these three bottles from REPCO when then had a recent 25% Off sale so saved even more. Inital feel with the oil is very good with a lot less noise from the syncros and gear shifting from cold to hot very good with no cruching.
