SAU Nationals 2012 - Goulburn NSW - Thursday & Friday

The SAU Nationals rolled around again this year and after heading down to Winton last year and having issues with the car and only making one or two sessions i was determined to make it to this years event which was being held in Goulburn NSW.

Last year @ Winton they had a Track Day and then a Show and Shine, this year they added in a 800m drag event @ the Goulburn Airport which was sure to be lots of fun.

The event was pre-sold to SAU members and then opened up to the rest of the community but with very little spots left the event sold out very quickly

I took the Thursday off work to organise everything to head down, unfortunately at the last minute James who was meant to come along as well had to pull out as his car was not complete. It was a real setback for him and much disappointment however it means that he can take the time to get things right.

So without James Michele and I headed down and we were lucky enough to be able to get to Wakefield on the Thursday afternoon just before they closed :). So i dropped the car and trailer off which meant i didn't have to worry about it in the morning. After dropping it off we went
to the RSL club and signed in for the SAU nats. We meet up with everyone and enjoyed a meal in the bistro which was nice. The next morning we woke to rain which was not too promising, heading out i was reasonably hopeful it would clear up but did know how the surface would be afterwards so it was a pretty cautious session.
Russell was there in his R32 and it was a great day hanging around talking and discussing the different lines around the track. He did very well for his first time and sure with a few more laps would be leaving me on his wake.
