Found an issue with clearance on the trailer of the rear tyres. The center guard has a support and it is very close to the rear tyres, it seems to have started to rub causing a section of the tyre and be worn down. I need to cut it off and then weld it back on to fix it.

Andrew from ASR picked up on an issue today that was missed in the previous install and most likely would have been the cause of the clutch failure. Using a flat ruler he checked the flatness of the clutch discs and found them to be bent out in the center, this was very odd and along with the failure of the retaining plates, which he had never seen before just didn't seem right. In the installation instructions it shows that 4mm must be taken off the center shaft otherwise it can cause a failure. Checking with another box he was able to confirm that that 4mm was not taken off the input shaft which meant the center bearing was pushing too far into the center of the clutch and bowing out the clutch discs eventually causing the retaining plates failure.

After a recent trip to Wakefield, driving back the rear tow down had come loose and the car was only secured by the two front tie downs. When I got home and realized I could see that the car had moved back about 30 cm and onto where I had secured the splitter using the remaining strapping from the now loose tie down. Had I hit the brakes hard there was nothing stopping it from moving forward. I have been using the following method for some time which is, two tie downs off reinforced front tie down points on the car to custom eye bolts on the draw bar. One one strap across and through the rear diff cradle.  This method  has worked well up until now, with 11h trips to Phillip Island and having minimal issues, I think a mix of tiredness and not tightening the straps correctly have caused the issue. The replacement clutch has arrived through Otomoto, i ordered it on the 1st October and it has taken a little while longer but i allowed 4 weeks just in case.

So i finally managed to get some free time and motivation to pull the gearbox out after the eastern creek track day last month. Man those top bolts are a pain to get to, i  removed the exhaust and top intercooler piping then got long extensions and got most of them except the top two on the passenger side. These are always the pain in the arse ones as they get heat from the turbo and exhaust. After stuffing around for ages i managed to get a spanner onto both of them and crack them loose. I didn't have a rear gearbox/tail shaft piece to stop the oil coming out so i just drained all the oil to stop it coming out. Adding in some extra safety with two straps around the box i managed to get it off and remove the clutch.  Turns out the spring retainer on the 2nd clutch plate had failed. The intermediate plate and flywheel have coped a bit of abuse as well but not bad for a clutch installed in 2003. Need to get a rebuild kit now and then machine the flywheel and out...

I was lucky enough to attend today's Skylines Australia track day at Sydney Motorsport Park GP circuit. I only managed one session and had a few issues, the overflow bottle was getting full and not draining back into the radiator. The silicon hose from the throttle body to the turbo BOV looks to have broken either coming off at the bov or getting caught in something so i had to replace it after the first session. Also had terrible trouble in scrutineering getting pinged for seat belt out of date, extinguisher out of date and no valve caps. I explained that the date on the harness was a manufacture date and they acknowledged that which as lucky but i had to buy a new extinguisher and pinch the valve caps from the falcon. Managed to get onto the track and lots of traffic resulted in a best of a 1min 45sec lap. Found a few issues whilst preparing for the trackday on Monday, first was some of the suspension bolts were fairly loose. First photo is prior and second photo is after tightening, this is on the drivers side  On the passenger side the bolt had fallen out Definitely need to do an alignment on the car as i can physically see the toe in and camber differences on the rear and front.  I changed the oil which i found evidence of fine metal particles, the brake fluid i changed looked a bit worse for wear.
